Cards to offer fans early opportunity to buy tickets for historic final season at Busch Stadium

New four-game ticket packs provide chance to see Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, final home opener and Busch Stadium finale; 2005 ticket packs and season ticket plans to go on sale Dec. 11

ST. LOUIS -- In anticipation of the high demand for tickets during the upcoming 2005 farewell season at Busch Stadium, the St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they will begin selling special four-game ticket packs to provide fans an advanced opportunity to purchase discounted tickets to a variety of key games including home dates with the Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, home opener and Busch Stadium finale.

The specially-discounted four-game ticket packs will go on sale Saturday, December 11th at 8 a.m. CST and can only be purchased by phone at 314/421-2400 or via the internet at stlcardinals.com. The ticket packs will not be available for purchase at Busch Stadium due to the fact that the team is converting to a new ticketing system for next year. The seven theme-based ticket packs range in price from $49 to $109 based on seat location and include a number of the most attractive dates on the 2005 home schedule. Quantities are limited and due to the anticipated demand, fans may wish to make their purchases early to guarantee seats for one of the most attractive home schedules in the team's history. Individual game ticket sales will not begin until Saturday, March 5, and many of the select dates that are included in the new four-game ticket packs may sell out in advance.

"The four-game packs were designed to ensure that our most devout fans, those who typically purchase tickets for multiple games, will have a chance to see the most sought-after games in 2005," said Cardinals Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing Dan Farrell. "Cardinals fans embraced the theme-based ticket packages that we introduced last season and we feel that this is the best method to enable the broadest segment of our fan base to get tickets for the key 2005 home games."

In 2004, Cardinals fans purchased over 50,000 tickets through the themed Rolen, Brock and Pujols ticket packages. Past research has shown that Cardinals fans typically purchase multiple tickets for multiple games with their initial purchase each year. Traditionally, with the opening of the box office, the team has found a high number of premium game tickets (ie: Opening Day & Cubs games) are purchased by a smaller concentration of fans.

The Cardinals also announced today that they will begin selling their wide-ranging season ticket plans on Saturday, December 11, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Busch Stadium for those fans interested in becoming new season ticket holders for the upcoming 2005 season. The Cardinals offer a variety of season plans for anyone's budget, ranging from the 15-game "Edmonds" partial plan to 81-game full-season plans that can assure you of terrific seat locations in the Field Box, Loge Box, Loge Reserved and bleachers. Postseason ticket options are also available with many of the season plans.

The following is a listing of the seven theme-based ticket packs that will go on sale beginning December 11. Each four-game pack is priced $109 for Loge Reserved seats, $105 for Terrace Box, $89 for Terrace Reserved and $49 for Upper Terrace Reserved.
